Zenith | Men & Ladies Watches | Watches World
Zenith is a Swiss luxury watch brand founded by Georges Favre-Jacot in 1865 at Le Locle, Switzerland. During his early years, Georges Favre-Jacot was an apprentice in the watchmaking industry. At the age of 22, he began to make watches in his workshop in Le Locle. He named his company Zenith. LVMH later bought Zenith in 1999, and the current CEO is Jean-Claude Biver. However, Zenith’s watches are still made in-house in Le Locle, Switzerland. They are credited for developing the first-ever integrated automatic chronograph movement found in the El Primero. The movement has a high level of precision with a high frequency reaching over 35,000 vibrations per hour, a one of its kind. Zenith also has a record-setting number of awards that surpasses 2000. These awards are figures of excellence that cover Zenith’s products from wristwatches, pocket watches, and more.
Is Zenith a good watch brand?
Zenith watches are developed in-house. They have one of the most accurate watch movements in the world. They put their movement through meticulous tests to improve the quality. Zenith is also known for producing durable timepieces that can withstand extreme conditions. Over the years, Zenith has shown that they are technically excellent, which is demonstrated in its versatile watch designs. Despite the quality of their watch movements, they keep adding innovative modifications to improve the quality of their watches and create superior movements.
Are Zenith watches collectible?
Zenith timepieces are collectible and have made for exceptional antiques. The El Primero model was released in 1969, and even after thorough documentation, they are still highly valued in recent days. During an auction, models from 1970 sold for between £3000-£8000. If you are a collector looking for Zenith watches to collect, there are some exciting models you might want to consider. The Zenith Pilot series is one of the most popular models and was inspired by aviation watches in the 50s. The watch gives a vintage feeling, with a plain design that is easy to understand. It is about 49mm in diameter with glowing Arabic figures. It has a 50-hour power reserve and comes in different top-quality cases, strap colours, and dials.
