Luxury is above simplicity
French fashion designer Christian Ernest Dior is a well-known household brand. If you know anything about Dior fashion house, it is that they are a fashion house focused on making shoes and apparel. As one of the first fashion houses to venture into the watch industry, Christian Dior used to say, “luxury is above simplicity“. He has proven this by producing exquisite watch collections. Some of these are the Chiffre Rouge collection (the first watch in the Men’s world), the Dior Grand Bal collection (an exquisite timepiece for women), and the La D de Dior collection Victoire de Castellane designed. Dior fashion luxury house is now controlled and headed by French businessman Bernard Arnault, who is also the head of one of the world’s largest luxury groups, LVMH.

Due to various watch components and bracelets, some models are a bit pricier than others. One of the newest models is the Dior Bal Miss Dior, with polished stainless steel, rose gold bezel, and snow-set with round diamonds and water resistance to 50 meters. The cost of the lovely timepiece starts from $35,000. Of course, there are pocket-friendly Dior collections, like the Dior La D De Dior collection and the Dior VIII which cost between $1000 to $10,000
Who makes Dior watch movements?
As soon as LVMH took over the fashion house, the watchmaking side was geared up. It created its development and manufacturing arm – Les Ateliers Horlogers Dior in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, and has since established itself as a watchmaker. Most of Dior’s movements are made by ETA and luxury watch brand, Zenith, which is also owned by LVMH.
Where are Dior watches made?
Dior watches are designed in the Avenue Montaigne studios in Paris. It starts with a team of people with extensive watchmaking knowledge, drawing out designs and sketches. From there, the designs are handed over to Dior’s ‘Les Ateliers Horlogers’ in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
