Corum | Men & Ladies Watches | Watches World
Montres Corum Sàrl, or Corum, was founded in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, by Gaston Ries and René Bannwart in 1955. The name ‘Corum’ was derived from the word ‘quorum’ which means a ‘select group of people’. This name goes a long way to tell of the brand’s exclusivity and a quest for originality. Corum watches are known mainly for their out-of-the-box innovative versatility. Their collections since time immemorial have taken the world of Swiss horology by surprise. An example was when they premiered the Coin watch in 1964, an elegant timepiece made from a $20 gold coin. Corum is one of the industry’s finest watchmakers. It harmoniously attunes to aestheticism yet does not lose touch with high-end mechanisms. In 2000, Severin Wunderman acquired Corum. The brand now belongs to the China Haidian Group.
